Larrea adopted a cute little jumping spider named 'Emoji' for the smiley face pattern on his butt. It was later discovered that Emoji was in fact a 'she' as we found a large egg sack in her enclosure. Since there was no male spider in the enclosure we knew for sure it was a 'dud' egg sack and so took no precautions. Cue us coming home to find that the egg sack hatched, and many hundreds of tiny jumping spider babies had crawled through the air-holes of the enclosure and spun web-threads down to escape into the house. We haven't had any insect problems in the house since! (Though we do find spiders somewhat regularly)

Yes we did!
