Lightning struck the tree in our backyard, starting a fire! Risk turned to reward, however, as we made really good friends with one of the firefighters and they still play DnD with us to this very day.

We discovered a secret unused room in our house, and immediately turned it into a fairy-garden themed bedroom complete with canopy bed. These days it mostly gets used for dog naps.

While prepping the backyard for gardening we unearthed some large animal bones. Larrea's parents helped us identify that they belonged to a Rhinoceros! While we can't be certain, we think maybe they came from the long shut-down Highland Park Zoo.
